Digitalisation can make construction faster, smarter and more efficient. But only if manufacturers, merchants, contractors, specifiers and software providers work together. That is why ZeeBoer has actively pursued collaboration throughout the construction supply chain since 1984.

We develop Utopis for managing product information, but software never operates in isolation. Product data only becomes truly valuable when other parties can use it. This requires clear agreements, standards and, above all, collaboration.

On 18 March 2027, we will once again attend the Ketenstandaard Congress in Nijkerk. A practical event for anyone interested in improving the flow of information throughout the construction supply chain.

Collaboration is in our roots

ZeeBoer’s relationship with the organisations behind today’s Ketenstandaard dates back to our foundation in 1984. That is no coincidence. Our specification services, and later Utopis, have always been based on the principle that information should be useful to others.

We see this philosophy reflected in standards such as STABU, NL-SfB, ETIM and DICO. A manufacturer may have its product information perfectly organised, but the next step is making sure that merchants, contractors, specifiers and other software systems can understand and use that information too.

That is why we collaborate with renowned organisations throughout the construction industry. We work with Ketenstandaard on standardisation and digital data exchange, with CROW on RAW, and with KOMO and Ketenstandaard within Bouwspex. We are also closely involved with professional and industry associations such as FBS and BNB.

The objective is always the same: rather than locking knowledge and information inside a single organisation or system, we want to make it useful throughout the supply chain.

Van productdata naar praktijk

For us, collaboration also means going beyond discussing new developments. We want to make them work in practice.

A good example is the Digital Product Passport (DPP). Together with TNO, Ketenstandaard developed the Digital Product Passport Template (DPpS) for construction products. Last spring, we created a demo showing how product information from Utopis can be presented according to this template.

We see the same principle at work with Voortaan. Together with other organisations in the construction industry, ZeeBoer participates in this initiative to promote and simplify prefabricated construction. Developers can digitally compose neighbourhoods using available housing concepts and gain insight into the performance of their plans. Here too, the real value emerges when different organisations, sources of expertise and data come together.

For Utopis, collaboration also means that we do not try to replace every other system. Product information should connect with ERP software, data pools, websites, advisory tools and standards already used elsewhere in the construction supply chain.

Ontmoet ons op 18 maart

On 18 March 2027, we will be at the Ketenstandaard Congress in Nijkerk. For us, it is the perfect place to meet manufacturers, merchants, contractors and other professionals from across the construction industry.

Ultimately, we all benefit from the same development. Manufacturers want to manage their product information correctly in one place. Merchants need reliable and up-to-date data. Contractors need to know what they are purchasing, installing and ultimately delivering. And during maintenance, renovation and reuse, that information must remain accessible.

We need standards and good software to make that happen. But above all, we need to keep working together.

Efficiently manage and share product data.

Responding to digital building standards.

All information available in one place.

Your product data better found.

All product data available in one platform.
